Francesca Lombardo to remix the sunset experience at Morabito Art Villa with Mixmag Asia

While it might not be the first beach club to set up shop on Bali’s coast with lofty promises to deliver a unique clubland experience for music aficionados, it’s by far the coolest.

With a central location on Berawa Beach, almost perfectly situated between Canggu and Seminyak, Morabito Art Villa offers its guests a through-the-looking-glass experience that’s far removed from anything too kitschy, too woo woo or too Canggu, and instead pairs best with bubbles. It’s where you never know who might be in the crowd dancing next to you and spontaneously jump on the decks and play. It could be Nicole Moudaber. It could be Lauren Lane. It could be an up-and-coming local love. But it will always be a raucously good time, especially on a Friday night.

Morabito Art Villa has turned the first day of the weekend along its sprawling coast into an art-inspired, fashion-forward garden party with Bali’s glitterati on the guest list. And they all seem to have great taste in music. The last Friday this month, however, is a little extra special: Morabito Art Villa together with Mixmag Asia invite Francesca Lombardo on August 26 to take over Morabito's new ocean-facing deck for an extravaganza that starts with sunset and ends with boogie by the sea.

If art were music (and it is, but we mean in a literal form), it would be Francesca Lombardo. The Italian classically trained vocalist and composer is an evolved electronic artist celebrated the world over for her emotional narrative of dreamy soundscapes, stirring melodies and hypnotic rhythms that have landed on imprints like Crosstown Rebels, Poker Flat, Bedrock and her own Echoe and Echolette label.

Adding to her many "ists", the multi-hyphenate is also an environmentalist. Lombardo recently partnered with One Tree Planted on a campaign aimed at mobilising the dance music community into supporting global reforestation. Naturally, our green hearts are looking forward to seeing how she leaves her mark on the Island of the Gods, both musically and sustainably.

And while Morabito goes late, neighbouring Century Room goes even later. Head there to go strong until the sun comes up and it's time to stagger home.
