The first DJ workshop for the deaf is set to start in 2022

A DJ workshop for the deaf will be opening in 2022, teaching members of the deaf community how to mix.

The workshops are for beginners’ level, so no experience is required to join, and will be held in Brixton from January 10 at 6:PM to 8:PM.

Behind the workshop is Deaf Rave an organisation that provides “entertainment with music, sign songs and visual performances to an all-inclusive audience, globally and across the UK” with an aim to unite people.

Founder, Troi ‘DJ Chinaman’ Lee began Deaf Rave as the first and only events organisation dedicated to providing the deaf and hard-of-hearing community a platform to display their love for music.

Deaf Rave has been working for nearly two decades to provide deaf dance fans to have engagement with music by using techniques such as feeling the reverberations of sounds from stage monitors so that they can experience raving.

They have headed up parties at fabric, Latitude Festival and Glastonbury.

For more information on the workshop head to their website.
