Awich teams up with RZA & FERG for heavyweight cross-cultural collab ‘Butcher Shop’

Japanese rap icon Awich unleashes her latest single 'Butcher Shop', a razor-sharp transpacific collaboration featuring FERG and produced by none other than RZA, the legendary architect of the Wu-Tang Clan.

Dark, bass-heavy, and unapologetically bold, the track bridges continents and eras—layering the grit and wisdom of old-school hip-hop with a contemporary swagger rooted in both Tokyo and New York.

It also comes with a statement that Asia’s hip-hop renaissance is global, ambitiously collaborative, and it’s here to cut deep.

The connection between Awich and RZA began when the Wu-Tang founder visited Japan a few years ago. With RZA’s longstanding reverence for Asian culture, and Awich’s sights set on her U.S. debut, a collaboration felt inevitable.

Speaking on the track, Awich says, “‘Butcher Shop’ is a place where three of my realities intersect—Okinawa, where I was born and raised; Tokyo, where I live now; and New York. Together with a legend like RZA and a true embodiment of the streets like FERG, we cut through the noise with sharp words and beats to capture the spirit of this borderless era.”

She continues, “This song is a crossroads—Japan and NYC, culture and fashion, luxury and play, sin and consequence. Everyone brings their own ‘meat’ to the table, and we slice into the truth. Welcome to our Butcher Shop.”

The release comes with a gritty, no-nonsense visual treatment that matches the track’s intensity.
