Disco Pogo to release “deep dive” book into Boards of Canada’s music

Disco Pogo is set to release a new book looking back at the music of beloved Scottish duo Boards of Canada, complete with album essays, think-pieces and much more.

A Disco Pogo Tribute To Boards of Canada is the fifth instalment in a series of tribute books from the electronic music magazine, following deep dives into Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, LCD Soundsystem and Andrew Weatherall.

The book will feature Disco Pogo’s “trademark mix” of content, ranging from a musical timeline to family trees, features, a discography, a gear list and much more.

Set for release on November 10 with “the blessing” of the duo’s long-time label Warp, the new book will come complete with an "exclusive Boards of Canada sticker sheet"

A Disco Pogo Tribute To Boards of Canada also comprises thoughts from renowned music journalists including Simon Reynolds, David Keenan and Elizabeth Alker.

"Boards of Canada are probably the most requested artist since we launched the series," Disco Pogo said on Instagram, dubbing the book a "deep dive into one of the most important electronic acts of the 20th and 21st centuries."

Boards of Canada made a surprise return earlier this year with their first album in 13 years, ‘Inferno’. The record was teased with a pre-release campaign, which saw cryptic posters appear all over the world and mysterious VHS tapes appear on the doorsteps of fans.

In May, a snippet of Boards of Canada’s track ‘Deep Time’ was used without consent to soundtrack a promotional video shared by the Trump administration’s White House. The sibling duo said that they did "not condone the unauthorised use" of their music for political messaging.

A Disco Pogo Tribute To Boards of Canada will ship worldwide on November 10, and is set to appear in US bookstores from January 15. Pre-order it here.
