‘Love Is Special’ is a sonic embodiment of DI SUN’s passion for peak-time anthems

Introducing DI SUN who hails from China and is currently based in the City of Angels. With releases on top labels such as Drumcode and Nervous Records (plus an upcoming one on Mau5trap on December 1), she’s come a long way from the oftentimes haunting and melancholic sounds of traditional Chinese instruments.

Her musical journey has deep roots, beginning with the mastery of the Guzheng (a traditional Chinese instrument) since childhood, which ignited her passion for music and art and laid the groundwork for her musical adeptness.

She plunged into the deep end when it came to exploring electronic music production by the time college came around. Captivated by its allure, DI SUN redirected her musical trajectory, opting for a major in Music Performance.

“I chose Music Performance as my major, and one of the courses in Logic piqued my interest in composing,” she says. “The process of making music is full of unknowns, and this sense of unknown satisfied my curiosity.”

And that’s when her love for techno started to blossom…hard.

Her most recent EP ‘Love Is Special’ came out on AfterTraxx Records — a label committed to pushing artistic boundaries and discovering fresh sounds, passionately fostering and championing emerging talent in the electronic music realm — and has consistently garnered plays and streams online.
