Premiere: Light & rhythm harmoniously intertwine in Demsky’s ‘Patterns That Shimmer’
The track expands from delicate melodies into textured beats, embodying the inventive spirit at the core of his upcoming album, ‘Jugaad’
‘Patterns That Shimmer’ is a luminous new track from Demsky, taken from his forthcoming album ‘Jugaad’ set for release on November 21.
Hailing from Toronto and now rooted in Tokyo, Demsky has steadily crafting immersive soundscapes that sit at the crossroads of ambient, downtempo, and trip hop.
His journey has led him to festival stages including Wonderfruit, Echoes Of Earth, and Intergalactic Festival. Beyond solo work, he also co-founded SentoSensations, a unique event series held inside Tokyo’s oldest bathhouse.
Demsky’s work balances subtle textures with rhythm-driven layers, pairing hazy atmospherics with beats that feel both sophisticated and organic.
‘Patterns That Shimmer’ reflects this balance. The track opens with a light, playful melody that gradually expands into layered beats and delicate synth work.

The arrangement gradually introduces fluttering high-range tones that give the track both lift and depth. Midway through, the elements pull back, creating a moment of pause before climbing again into a textured soundscape where rhythm, melody, and ambient detail intertwine.
True to its name, the track flickers with luminous detail, its shifting layers creating a sense of motion that is both intricate and constant.

The track is part of ‘Jugaad’, a six-track album that leans on the concept of resourcefulness in sound design; finding innovation through limitation.
As Demsky puts it: “The album is an amalgamation of ambient sounds overlapped with melodic and rhythmic trip-hop beats. ‘Jugaad’ is a Hindi word that refers to a clever, resourceful way of solving problems using limited resources often through improvisation, repurposing, or creative adaptation. The title kind of represents my whole journey through music as I had to craft beats through the limited resources I had.”
