Defected Records return to Zouk Singapore for the F1 weekender
The Dunmore Brothers & Riva Starr head to the iconic superclub on September 16
As F1 brings in the crowds to Singapore, along with it comes a number of performances for a weekend of non-stop action in both the streets and the clubs. In the party arena this year, Defected Records will be back after an almost-decade-long hiatus to Zouk Singapore on September 16. The legacy brand for house music will be bringing over the Dunmore Brothers and Riva Starr to showcase the classic Defected sound.
From 14-16 September, Zouk Singapore has planned a line-up that is a fit for everyone in the Lion City. Singaporean favourite Wukong warms up the weekend with predominantly EDM beats of blended Asian elements and dynamic mixes on Thursday night.
On Friday, the Yeti Out Brothers will be throwing down a dynamic set of infectious beats and non-stop dancing at Phuture.
Closing out the weekend on the 16th will be Defected Records with their “house music all life long” as they take over the decks to the delight of house heads of the city.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be making our return to Singapore for the first time in nearly a decade, alongside Zouk, a club very close to our heart. Following our long history with the venue, we’ll be bringing the unrivalled energy and talent that Defected is known and loved for, hosting a night of incredible music at one of the country’s most in-demand nightclubs,” mentions George Pritchard, Director of Events and Talent at Defected Records.

Tyler Hendrie, Zouk Singapore's Assistant Director of Marketing and Branding, also reflects on this
momentous occasion and mentions, "Bringing back such a musically progressive and legendary brand
like Defected Records to Zouk Singapore after 10 years is long overdue and a triumphant return
during F1 weekend. You can expect a night that echoes a legacy of quality music and
innovative sounds, all as we set out to define another era of music legacy."
This is not the first time Defected has worked with Zouk Singapore; in 2009, they released the ‘Defected In The House - Zouk Out Singapore '10’ compilation mixed by Simon Dunmore and djB which included artists such as Marco Carola, Joris Voorn, Dennis Ferrer, Louie Vega and many more. Then in 2011, they made their way to the club for ‘Defected In The House with Copyright’.
Defected Records has firmly planted its roots in the industry, as its founder and A&R specialist Simon Dunmore has created a name for itself and sits as a trailblazer in the world of house music since 1999.

The brand has also made its way around the globe with events that pull in a community of dance floor revellers who expect a legacy of quality music that has influenced generations. Last year Simon Dunmore stepped down as the owner of Defected and since passed the reigns to Wez Saunders as co-owner and CEO of Optimum Defected Holdings Ltd. Simon says he'll still be part of Defected as a consultant.
Next year in 2024, the brand celebrates its 25th anniversary and they have planned parties, fresh talents and more music that will introduce more from ‘Defected Worldwide’ than before.
Rumour has it that Millie Dunmore (Simon’s daughter) will be headed to Zouk Singapore for the F1 festivities.
The night in Singapore follows a string of events worldwide for Defected as the brand looks to build on redefining the landscape of the music industry for house music.
