Daft Punk announce official partnership with LEGO

Daft Punk will become "LEGO After All" with their first-ever official partnership with the Danish toy manufacturer.

In a video shared to announce the collaboration, Daft Punk are reimagined as LEGO minifigures donning LED helmets inspired by the duo's Alive Tour 2007 suits, which were designed by Janet Hansen.

The pair step into the “gates-of-play”, which appears to be the underside of a LEGO brick mimicking a soundsystem speaker, before planting their C-shaped appendages on a LEGO brick-built DJ console.

The first-of-its-kind collaboration, which will span "product, content and brand experiences," follows years of appeals from both LEGO and Daft Punk fan communities to immortalise the French duo in brick form.

According to a press release, the "LEGO After All" partnership will greenlight the production of the fan-created Alive Tour 2007-inspired set, which was first submitted to LEGO's Product Ideas platform in 2024.

"Daft Punk Concert", created by LEGO fanatic Patrick Harboun and his son in 2020, features a recreation of the legendary pyramid-shaped stage from the pair's show at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy arena in Paris in 2007; the design won Grand Prize in the global LEGO competition, Music To Our Ears, and has since garnered 10,000 supporters on the submission platform.

"This all started as a creative escape during lockdown between my son and I because of our shared love of Daft Punk and LEGO building. We never dared imagine it would take off in this way," says Harboun.

"Watching our passion project become part of an official collaboration is an incredible experience, and it's a reminder of what makes the LEGO Ideas community so special," he continues. "That simple idea, shared by fans, really can become something much bigger.”

Daft Punk's Creative Director Cédric Hervet adds: "The pyramid stage is one of the most recognisable expressions of Daft Punk’s visual world, so it feels fitting that this fan-created design will be centre stage of this partnership."

"Fans have always played an important part in Daft Punk’s story, and we are excited to see that creativity reflected through the LEGO universe," he continues.
