Cybotron is back after 28 years with a highly anticipated EP, ‘Maintain The Golden Ratio’, set to be released on October 13 under the esteemed Tresor label.
Detroit techno trendsetter Juan Atkins, the brains behind Cybotron (also conceived by Rik Davis), aims to bridge the past and future of electronic music with the upcoming two-tracker.
The lead single ‘Maintain' is a blast from the past, feeling retro and nostalgic but still as exciting as ever. Weird, dreamy synths over even weirder, dreamier vocals complement one another perfectly. Although it does show its age, and listening to it feels like a bizarre trip at times, its infectious basslines and overall atmosphere keep you coming back for more.

The impact of Cybotron's pioneering work is undeniable, with their chart-topping single "Clear" becoming a well of inspiration for future generations. Notably, the Grammy-winning "Lose Control" by Missy Elliot and T.I. and Rico Love's "Lay Me Down" both sampled the track.
Berlin's Tresor Records is renowned for its central role in shaping the global techno and electronic music scene since 1991. Also revered for its legendary club and event space, Tresor has continued embodying electronic music culture for over three decades.
