Chizawa Q’s ‘Beluga’ is a hypnotic fusion of jazz-infused techno & noir-tinged visuals

Chizawa QChizawa Q is marking his much-anticipated return to R&S Records with his latest track, ‘Beluga’, part of his upcoming new album, ‘Xenoverse’, out November 22.

A collaboration with Masaki Sakamoto, ‘Beluga’ isn't your typical techno track; it's a bold and thoughtful exploration of sound, combining old-school influences with a fresh, avant-garde approach.

Chizawa Q masterfully weaves contemporary jazz elements into deep, tribal rhythms, while brooding vocals set an immersive, moody atmosphere from the start.

As the track unfolds, jazzy stabs and rolling, shuffling hi-hats create a driving groove that draws clear inspiration from Detroit techno pioneers like Underground Resistance and the experimental edge of European artists such as Steve Rachmad.

It's a dynamic cut that mirrors R&S's ethos of pushing musical boundaries and favouring sonic innovation over formulaic beats.

The music video is a hypnotic, noir-tinged journey that perfectly syncs with the track’s deep, tribal rhythms and jazzy stabs. Shadowy, fragmented visuals flicker in time with shuffling hi-hats, creating a sense of constant motion, while abstract shapes pulse to the groove, reflecting the track’s layered sound.
