BBC Asian Network have announced a new set of DJ residencies
The new residency shows start in November
BBC Asian Network have announced a new round of DJ residencies, starting from tomorrow (November 1 2020).
The DJs are DJ Kye, Almass Badat, DJ Nojan and Aneesha Kotwani.
The DJs will take a Sunday night DJ spot from 11pm to 1am, rotating every Sunday so that they each have a monthly show. Every fifth Sunday of the month, the DJs will collaborate altogether for a specialised show featuring all four of them on air.
DJ Kye will start tomorrow November 1, taking the first Sunday of the month.
DJ Nojan hails from Glasgow specialising in Middle Eastern and international music, and is known for his multi-genre high energy sets. Almass Badat grew up in Lusaka, Zambia with Indian roots. She’s a visible member of the queer Muslim community, and co-runs the ‘What is this Behaviour?’ podcast. Aneesha Kotwani moved from India to the UK in 2009 and discovered a new club and nightlife culture before moving back to India in 2013 and setting up her company WAVLNGTH.
