Bazza Ranks & Lovely bring back 2-step on latest single ‘That Kinda Girl’

Bazza Ranks and Lovely have linked up to make a triumphant return with a UKG banger titled 'That Kinda Girl'. This 2-step stomper comes through Marc Cotteril’s Rhythm Vibe Digital, the sister label of PlastikPeopleDigital.

'That Kinda Girl' channels the nostalgic spirit of the UK's golden age. It’s an ode to old-school UKG, with 2-step drum patterns, vintage r'n'b vocals and big heavy basslines. The single is littered with playful pianos, pulsating wubs, entrancing dubs and the tried-and-tested percussion of UKG.

The vocal sample is chopped and changed throughout the track, seamlessly integrating as an integral percussive element. Starting with unique and engaging synths, then moving onto classic piano melodies in the breakdown — a rare gem within the current UKG landscape in Asia — introducing an element of lightness to the track. That is until the drop kicks in with filthy sub-shaking bouncy basslines being front-and-centre.

'That Kinda Girl' is taken from a larger EP release which also features the track “Tears” ranked #8 in Traxsource Garage and was recently played on National and Digital radio in Ireland & UK & Hong Kong. The duo are also working on a new EP, which is set to be released later this year.

You can see more of what Bazza’s been listening to on his recent Traxsource chart, featuring some original cuts, disco house stompers and groovy classics.
