Bangkok, say hello to a new underground music venue called VIOLETT

Bangkok’s underground music community has been hit hard with the recent closure of several music venues and tight restrictions citywide making things more difficult for those that are left but in the face of adversity, a few brave soldiers are introducing a new underground spot to Thong Lor.

Opened last week, VIOLETT is the latest addition to Bangkok’s nightlife scene and its tagline reads ‘FUCK THE MAINSTREAM’. The organizers say the venue is best suited for people who are looking for a nice niche club that plays underground music.

The 300-capacity club is spread out over 2 stories with premium sonic quality delivered by an L-Acoustics soundsystem, which is also used worldwide by clubs like OMNIA in Vegas.

Nights are to vary in genre with the schedule looking something like this:

Wednesday: techno, tech-house
Thursday: nu-disco, disco, soul funk
Friday: techno, tech-house
Saturday: old school hip-hop, trap, future bass
Sunday: trance
