Amelie Lens welcomes Kawasaki's Charlie Sparks to EXHALE Records

London-based but Kawasaki-born producer Charlie Sparks has made some great strides in his career with releases on well-respected labels such as NineTimesNine, Märked Amsterdam, MOTZ, COUP and Autektone. His tracks have also found their way onto Adam Beyer's 'Drumcode Radio' and into the playlists of Jacidorex, CLTX, Thomas Shumacher and more.

Charlie has hit another milestone this week with the announcement that techno juggernaut Amelie Lens has signed his next release 'Tatakai' to her upcoming EXHALE Records VA release. EXHALE Various Artists 002 is described as "fiercely dynamic techno from the underground’s most promising, rising and established artists" and 'Tatakai' will slide in along productions from hardware scientists 999999999, newcomer Jastice, ‘Bóg Jest w Techno’ event boss Sept, Brooklyn’s Xiorro and EXHALE mainstay Ahl Iver among others. Needless to say, Charlie has found himself alongside good company.

Charlie Sparks puts his talents to work on 'Tatakai', pairing acid 303s, Japanese vocals, monstrous kick drums, sirens, razor-sharp high hats and a ferociously speedy bpm to whip up a single of stadium proportions. Sparks has always found harmony combining trance-like themes with the more raw industrial sounds of techno. He aids his production process with the application of rapid kicks and throttling synths, where frantic layers of frequencies result in a whirlwind of sounds around the listener.

Only a snippet of the release is currently available online with the compilation arriving on digital platforms June 18 and vinyl on July 2. Pre-order and purchase links are available via EXHALE Records Fanlink page here.
