A.Mochi hits the web with a flurry of new music via Scott Tiger

Tokyo's A.Mochi has been a fundamental cog in Japan's vibrant techno machine dating back to 2006. The artist has released among a list of who's who labels including Cocoon, Hard Signal, Tremors, Mote-Evolver and is a staple figure on Len Faki's Figure imprint. When not dropping techno his championed techno bangers among these globally recognized labels, A.Mochi blesses the masses with releases via his Scott Tiger label.

Scott Tiger has seen a slew of artists grace its catalogue since its inception in 2019 including Nag, IMAIZUMI Atsuo, Ryoh Mitomi, Mirai, Lyoma and Takamasa Tomae as well as a few tracks from A.Mochi himself. However, the label has been silent since August 2020 with no update regarding why. The label's silence was broken last week however when Scott Tiger returned with its massive 44 track Resound ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP compilation. The release is a checklist of artists previously releasing music on Scott Tiger as well as a few names. If that wasn't enough to get your techno chops salivating, A.Mochi followed that up by dropping two of his own singles on the same day.

The pick of the litter among the 46 tracks has to be A.Mochi's original production 'Scissors'. If this was the reason for Scott Tiger's hiatus then it was well worth the wait. The track is a departure from A.Mochi's typical driving sound with soft and subtle undertones at work. Its beautiful techno, deep and melodic textures carry the listener on a pleasant voyage from start to finish but it still has enough punch in it to fill a dance floor. This would be a refreshing moment of clarity in a crowded room being hammered with techno bangers. A.Mochi has hit the proverbial nail on the head with this one and we can't wait to see what else he has in store for the future.

Scissors was released via the Scott Tiger Bandcamp page on August 6 2021 & is available for purchase here
