88rising unveils an online festival with new and old faces off their roster
An all-Asian line up of artist from around the world
More fresh news comes our way from the 88rising camp, as they announce an online festival that will stream live via YouTube and Twitter tomorrow. As brands, companies, artists, labels, agencies and all types of music related platforms contemplate what to do next, streaming content seems to be the next closest thing to staying connected to fans and followers. 88rising has been on the Mixmag Asia radar for the simple reason that it is constantly evolving — whether it be scouting new talent or bridging collaborations for fresh productions.
Their most recent announcement is Asia Rising Forever, a digitally conceptualised festival featuring Asian talent from around the world. The lineup includes current and former artists off their roster including Rich Brian, NIKI (who are both from Indonesia), HYUKOH from South Korea, Phum Viphrut from Thailand, Taiwanese rapper 9m88 as well as Filipino sensation Iñigo Pascua.
88rising was founded by Sean Miyashiro in 2015 to “celebrate Asian talent and Asian stories and Asian culture”, and the format in which he created it involves four key components: digital media and video production, record label, a cultural agency arm and an extended media arm that explores film and TV opportunities.
Asia Rising Forever goes live on 6 May 2020 at 9pm ET / 9am CST.
