TaoFu makes Singapore debut at YES YOU’s second anniversary event

Vietnam’s Fuong Nguyen aka TaoFu began her journey as a regular dancer and music lover of underground beats, attending many events before stepping into the DJ scene in 2020.

Despite her relatively recent start, she quickly gained significant recognition for her skills, earning a resident DJ title at Saigon’s The Observatory and becoming a member of the ATIPIK Collective. Cult favourite clubbing haunt Savage also recruited her as their resident last year.

Inviting her over to the Lion City is YES YOU—a Singapore-based collective founded by Nick Levanic aka Taaka in July 2022 that has been at the forefront of promoting inclusivity and supporting meaningful local causes through groovy house music.

The collective has hosted events across the island at venues like TUFF Club, iki, Dirty Blonde, and the Glass Hut, raising funds for causes such as migrant workers, youth mental health, and gender equality. This upcoming event is particularly significant as it marks the farewell of founder Taaka, who is moving to Hanoi, and TaoFu’s Singapore debut at the same time.

Known for her eclectic and rhythmically diverse sets, TaoFu has captivated audiences at major festivals like (Re)Treat and Equation in Mai Chau, Vietnam, and has performed regionally at Magnetic Fields Festival in India and The Air House Festival in Korea.

She finally lands in Singapore next month to showcase the magnetism of her multi-genre sets at TUFF Club.

The night will also feature sets by Ryan Cheng aka The Weatherman, a key figure in Singapore’s early morning, cold plunging Immersion series and a familiar face in Singapore's music scene, plus Taaka himself who will close out the event with a final farewell set.
