The Layover: Smitten with Japan? So was Anfisa Letyago

Meet Anfisa Letyago. A Siberian-born DJ and producer who's been cutting her teeth as a DJ in the city of Naples, Italy. Young, talented, charismatic and LOUD, Anfisa’s music has been making noise on dance floors around the world since 2010, but it was a meeting with Carl Cox that changed everything. He snapped her up for a couple of releases, which of course he regularly plays in his sets, and here's a shortlist of who followed: acid-house icon DJ Pierre, who passed her through Radioslave, Pan-Pot, Adam Beyer, and so on. Her latest EP comes out on April 9 via N:S:DA, a three-track number called Nisida which sees her plunging deeper into the darker reaches of techno’s diaspora. As we wait impatiently for touring to resume, we reminisce on Anfisa's last jaunts to Asia in this week’s The Layover.
