The Layover: Andhim recalls being mistaken for a manga character

The german 'super house' duo are craving for their next Asia tour

For this edition of Layover, we turn to Simon Haehnel & Tobias Müller who make up the German super house duo Andhim. Through turntablism and a love affair with music gear and a penchant for traveling the world, Andhim quickly became a staple name on the global dance circuit. Their energetic and charismatic sound stems from being exposed to jazz and hip hop during their teenage years, during when Tobias won himself several ITF and DMC championships. From a slow start in their studio back in 2010 to a rampant global debut a year later saw them voted in as top-ten German newcomers of Groove and Raveline Magazine.

While their releases are geared for dance floors worldwide, it’s evident that the pair are also hugely influenced by their time spent touring in Asia — two of their EPs from last year ‘Brabazon’ and ‘Toy Toy’ were both inspired by their Japan tour, during when they discovered that Tobias resembles a manga character — needless to say, they had a great time in Asia and here’s why.
