Sandunes ‘Signs’ (feat. Ramya Pothuri) Zed Bias Remix
In August ‘23, I featured the lead single from Sandunes’ then-forthcoming album, ‘The Ground Beneath Her Feet’ on Mengzy Selects. Exactly one year later, another vocal from the album has been remixed by Zed Bias who’s given ‘Signs’ a wonderful reimagining at 128 BPM.

Hodge, なかむらみなみ ‘Everyday in the Club’ (Dayzero Remix)
TREKKIE TRAX recently dropped a remix EP of Hodge and Minami Nakamura’s infectious ‘Everyday in the Club’. Dayzero’s grime-influenced rework is the EP’s standout with its grittiness juxtaposing Nakamura’s kawaii vocals brilliantly.

Osmani Soundz ‘Fabricz’
Championing “heavy eastern breaks on the dance scene” since 2003, Nasha Records has become a home for a wide spectrum of Eastern-infused bass music. Released on August 2, 140 roller ‘Fabricz’ by Osmani Soundz is a perfect representation of what makes Nasha so special.

DJ Love ‘Sabak Sa DJ Basuri’
Reclaiming the Filipino word for slacker, “Budots” is an electronic genre that emerged in Davao City in the 2010s. Now, one of its pioneers has released an album on Eastern Margins and lead single ‘Sabak Sa DJ Basuri’, with its Jeepney horns, is an homage to the car culture so intertwined with Budots.

Droga & Brmha ‘Mandi’
Droga & Brmha sent in ‘Mandi’ this month and we were blown away by the audio-visual project. Inspired by Mumbai’s traditional markets, ‘Mandi’ is a mesmerising slow burn featuring harmonium and street samples. Echoing how the markets have gone on for decades and decades, its MV is a captivating series of loops and repetition.
