The Groove Festival invites Marina Trench & Alan.D for Thailand debut

The Groove Festival, curated by Latitudes Media & Events, gears up to sweep through multiple locales in Thailand for its 2024 event.

The festival is set to captivate audiences from Bangkok to the serene shores of Koh Pha Ngan and Koh Tao, showcasing a fusion of music and art that celebrates diversity and cultural exchange.

From April 30 to May 11, six different venues will come alive with the infectious beats of underground music.

Building on the success of past endeavours such as Back 2 The Groove in Tao and the introduction of Theos and Camion Bazar to Thailand, Latitudes Media & Events aims to elevate this year’s experience to new heights.

At the heart of The Groove Festival are its headlining artists, each bringing a unique flair to the stage — two of which are making their Thailand debut.

The first newcomer to the Kingdom is Marina Trench. Hailing from France, she emerges as a beacon of deep house brilliance. Having seamlessly navigated through crowds at clubs and festivals worldwide, Trench's productions on esteemed labels like Wolf Music Recordings and Heist Recordings have solidified her status as a tastemaker in the underground scene.

Her Sweet State imprint, launched in 2021 has housed top-quality tunes by Hugo LX, and remixes by Cinthie, Anna Wall, Gerd Janson and Earl Jeffers.

Another first in Thailand via invitation of The Groove Festival is Alan.D. A stalwart of the local music scene in Nantes, Alan.D brings his eclectic mix of jazz, disco, funk, and early '90s club culture to this year’s festivities. As a DJ, promoter, and curator of musical diversity, Alan.D's sets offer a journey into the soul of house music, enriched by years of experience and a passion for exploration.

He’s also played alongside a number of exciting names in the industry such as Franck Roger, Paul Cut, Paula Tape, Nick V, Folamour, Masalo, Flabaire, Chris Carrier and more.

With a legacy dating back to 2007, La Mamie’s has left an indelible mark on Paris' music scene and beyond, with performances at iconic venues and festivals. They’ve also made their mark in Asia with regular performances at Wonderfruit plus by organising Hong Kong’s destination festival, Shi Fu Miz.

Specializing in house music while embracing genres like reggae, jazz, and drum'n'bass, La Mamie’s curates an immersive experience wherever they go.
