Premiere: Shubostar works cosmic magic into Romain FX's 'Italominati'

We're beyond thrilled to present this premiere from a pair of artists who have long been making their respective presences felt on the MMA radar. Here, Korean artist Shubostar takes the controls to remix 'Italominati' from Fauve Record's chief and honorary Hong Konger, Romain FX.

Both artists have graced their fair share of our column inches in the past few years, and each are continuing their ceaseless strides into the hearts and minds of the dance music community – thanks to a flurry of impactful releases and transglobal DJ appearances. 'Italominati (Shubostar Remix)' appears on the 'Le Sucre d'Adam' EP released on Parisian label, Cracki Records. As well as Shubo's rework, the EP features four timeless original tracks that dart between Italo disco and dream house, set alongside a remix from the mighty Lauer. Vibrant, colourful, and primed for the floor, the EP represents yet more impressive work from the irrepressible monsieur FX.

Shubostar's hyper-atmospheric remix unfolds over crisp Italo drums, with evocative pads and melodic synth swirls caressing Romain's sultry spoken word vocal as throbbing bass and harmonic refrains elegantly combine. Rooted in the past but with a delightfully futurist intention, Shubostar's sparkling interpretation inhabits astral realms, which is exactly what we've come to expect from the cosmically-charmed creator.
