Zouk welcomes Carlita’s fusion of global sounds to Singapore

Zouk Singapore is set to host Carlita’s kaleidoscope of sounds on Friday, January 26.

Hailing from the vibrant city of Istanbul, the Turkish-Italian artist’s musical journey began with her classical training in a variety of instruments, including the drums, cello, bass, and electric guitar.

After moving to Boston for her studies, Carlita discovered her love for electronic music after seeing the joy it brought to people — and she wanted to be part of that.

Her productions are a testament to her eclectic taste and background, seamlessly blending live and electronic instruments.

Incorporating synths, sampled instruments, and field recordings from her travels, Carlita creates a rich tapestry of sounds, mostly inspired by the diverse musical landscape of her hometown, with hints of Turkish psychedelia as she once shared with Mixmag Asia.

Her music is a celebration of global influences, representing a unique exploration into the intersection of different cultures.

With sets that traverse melancholic, larger-than-life sounds spanning indie, disco, minimal, and various Brazilian and Latin influences, her mastery of crafting unique musical experiences is one not to be missed.

Having performed at Coachella, Glastonbury, Burning Man, Kappa FuturFestival and Tomorrowland last year, Carlita returns to Singapore for her public debut, and it’s only fitting to have her perform at Zouk.

The iconic superclub, known for its diverse programming and innovative club nights, just celebrated its 32^nd year in 2023, with bigger and brighter things on the horizon for the Zouk group.
