YouTube introduces 360 live stream at Coachella
Video streams like you’ve never seen or heard
YouTube takes live streaming a step farther with its introduction of a 360-degree video platform for Coachella 2016.
Planned to be launched during Coachella’s second week, the new streaming platform is an expansion of an earlier incarnation of 360-degree videos already available to computer users. Along with this upgrade, YouTube is testing reality with a new broadcasting format that utilizes “spatial audio”, which gathers sound from various physical sources in the performance to provide a heightened viewing experience.
YouTube has announced so far that 360-degree live streaming and spatial audio will be used for Run the Jewels, the Kills and Matt and Kim.
