Vinyl sales trumped both Spotify Free and YouTube in 2015
Wax revenue continues to grow in the US music industry

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has just released some interesting figures for 2015.
According to the US music industry's yearly revenue report, vinyl sales earned more than ad-supported music streaming services. The wax market drew in $416 million in 2015, while Spotify Free and Youtube together earned $385 million.
Although record retailers have seen a boom in business, its relevant to note that ad-supported music platforms collect a much smaller revenue per unit. 2015 was also the first year in history that streaming services accounted for the top earnings in the music industry.
