Tupac’s ashes were rolled into blunts and smoked, friends claim

Tupac Shakur’s ashes were rolled into blunts and smoked by his friends and family, according to new claims by his former associate Suge Knight.

The unusual revelation was made to TMZ by Knight, who was with Tupac at the time he was shot in 1996, amidst the ongoing murder trial taking place in Las Vegas.

Knight claims that after he was cremated, Tupac’s mother invited friends to a Vegas hotel room where they rolled his ashes into “several” blunts and smoked them.

It followed a reported effort to have the rapper cremated quickly, with Knight telling TMZ that he bribed a funeral director with $1.2 million to cremate him overnight after being told that it could take days.

Knight claims that he did not get involved in the smoking ceremony, telling Tupac’s mother at the time that he was on probation and assumed it would be a crime to smoke someone’s ashes.

Tupac’s murder trial began on Monday, August 17, at a Las Vegas court. 63-year-old Duane "Keffe D" Davis, who is charged with Tupac’s murder, is alleged to have orchestrated the killing by prosecutors, though they do not believe that he fired the gun that shot him.

"Let's be clear, Duane Davis did not pull the trigger," Chief Deputy District Attorney Binu Palal told the jury. "But he did plan the shooting in retaliation for the beating of his nephew."

Davis was billed as a former gang member and a ringleader by prosecutors in the opening days of the trial, though his defence claimed that there are missing police documents and "sloppy" detective work that could refute claims against him.
