Touliver, Hoàng Thùy Linh & 16 Typh link up for ‘Chất Êm. My Game’
The newly-released collaborative track showcases each Vietnamese artists’ distinct sonic styles
‘Chất Êm. My Game’, which translates to ‘Smooth Flow. My Game’ is a track that combines three different styles of music; EDM, rap/hip-hop and contemporary folk. Released on May 25, it brings together three Vietnamese heavyweights of each genre; notable DJ Touliver, singer Hoàng Thùy Linh who's known for her Vietnamese folk music-influenced pop hits and ‘Million Dollar Boy’ rapper 16 Typh.
Though this marks the first time all three artists are collaborating on a project, it isn’t the first time they’ve crossed paths; Touliver has previously worked together with both 16 Typh and Hoàng Thùy Linh individually.
The musical project, which was spearheaded by Budweiser, resulted in a unique and smooth combination of each genre’s quintessential features. It showcases the street-style rap of 16 Typh plus the otherworldly contemporary folk vocal artistry of Hoàng Thùy Linh that flow throughout a background Touliver’s hypnotic beats.
Considered an anthem to inspire creativity within the Vietnamese youth, the track aims to encourage its listeners to pursue personal passions, be willing to freely express creativity and fearlessly showcase their identity to the world.
“It blends three personalities from three different musical genres as smoothly as possible. It’s an opportunity to prove that we should boldly do things we've never done before, seize new opportunities and create our own distinct works of art," Touliver shared about the collaborative track.
“Budweiser wants to spread a strong message of “Chất Êm Ta Chinh Phục” (“Smooth Flow Is Yours To Take”) to the Vietnamese youth, proving that creativity is limitless when combining different genres of music in a unique and smooth way,” mentions a representative of the brand.
Debuted to a crowd at a recent BudX event with the participation of dancers on stage, the song also received strong support from those watching via livestream.
