Tomoyoshi shows how to 'rock the funky beat' on his new drum 'n' bass banger

Japanese drum 'n' bass purveyor Tomoyoshi continues his prolific output with his most recent slab of feel-good jump up inspired dance-floor fire.

Currently living in Germany having moved there in 2017, Tomoyoshi fell in love with the raw sounds of old school d 'n' b while living in London in 2011. It wasn't too long before his passion for main room breaks saw him hit the studio, with his first release landing in 2014 on Raptors Den. His sound maintains a tip-of-the-cap to heroes of the scene, such as Aphrodite and Micky Finn, and bubbles with good time feeling and a pumped-up sense of fun. His tireless work rate and quality of production has seen him carve out a solid reputation in the drum 'n' bass community, and his latest effort is likely to find its way into the boxes of countless selectors.

'Everyday Funk' is built around the classic “if you really like to rock the funky beat” made famous by Natural Born Chillers in their 1997 banger of the same name. Tomoyoshi's track uses stripped beats to devastating effect, with the crisp snare drum ripping through the speakers and driving the tempo. The less is more ethos carries into the music, with an off-kilter top-line combining with lush strings allowing plenty of room for the vocal sample to cut through. The single is taken from his forthcoming nine-track album 'White Label' which is due to drop on August 21. All tracks on the release are essential listening for lovers of fierce beats and fast tempos, beyond any doubt this is one for the jungle massive to seek out. Make some noise for Tomoyoshi!
