Tiësto shares cryptic posts teasing his return to trance music

Is Tiësto returning to trance music?

On Monday (November 17), the Dutch DJ and producer’s Instagram account was wiped of all past content, leaving just one cryptic post teasing his original ‘90s logo, synonymous with his days as a trance pioneer.

The post also revealed a sound snippet of new music – a familiar trance build underneath a vocal line, leading to speculation that he may just be returning to his original sound.

Artists including Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, and Adriatique all shared their excitement about his return in the comments of the post, as well as thousands of fans.

Meanwhile, Tiësto’s website was also wiped and revamped – with just his logo and a countdown clock appearing on the homepage, counting down to Friday, November 21.

Tiësto is set to perform a rare “trance set” at Dreamstate SoCal just a day after the countdown expires, EDM.com notes, leaving fans wondering if this could be a return to his roots.

Since sharing the cryptic teaser, Tiësto has hinted that a rework of his 2004 hit ‘Love Comes Again’ could be landing imminently. The edit was teased by collaborator BT on Instagram yesterday, alongside the hashtag trancecomeback.

In May, Tiësto performed a one-off ‘In Search of Sunrise’ show during EDC Las Vegas, a project that began in 1999 as a series of compilation albums, marking his first in many years.

While it’s currently unclear what Tiësto has planned next, fans can keep track of the countdown clock on his website.
