The Weeknd soundtracks a “never-ending purgatory of pain” at Universal Studios Singapore
Prepare to step into a pop-centric afterlife with tracks from Dawn FM & After Hours
The Weeknd’s latest two albums centre around death, purgatory and the afterlife, so it seems a match made in heaven (or hell) for him to be teaming up with Universal Studios Singapore for their upcoming Halloween Horror Nights 11. The events will feature a more pop-centric twist this year with a haunted house inspired by music from the pop sensation.
In 2022 Abel Tesfaye (pka The Weeknd) collaborated with other Universal Studio locations in the US for their horror nights, but the Singapore edition takes it one step further, featuring five new rooms inspired by his 2022 hit album ‘Dawn FM’, along with other rooms inspired by 2020’s ‘After Hours’.
“Inspired by The Weeknd’s music and short films, The Weeknd: After Hours Til Dawn Nightmare haunted house will bring guests face-to-face with the terrors spawned from the twisted mind of this mysterious artist,” mentions Resorts World Sentosa says.

See the #1 streamed artist in the world in a much more sinister setting, inside the seemingly never-ending corridors of his unnerving nightclub, full of blinding lights meant to take away your breath and have you scared silly (both literally and figuratively, perhaps?). Guests will “witness the horrors in store for those trapped within its walls while attempting to escape The Weeknd and his never-ending purgatory of pain”.
“Halloween has been significant to my music, and that makes Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights such a fun and novel stage to bring my music around the world. I’m thrilled to have a haunted house in Singapore and share this experience with my fans in Southeast Asia,” The Weeknd said in a press release.

The experience will be scored by Grammy-winning producer Mike Dean, who will play tracks from Abel’s two albums, along with remixed horror movie soundtracks.
This is off the back of The Weeknd’s show, ‘The Idol’, which was met with mixed reviews and criticism due to its misogynistic themes. It was cancelled before completing its first season.
The haunted house will take place over 18 nights from September 29 until November 4, with tickets starting at SGD79 for non-peak times and SGD89 on the weekends.
