The festival's line-up features a slew of international talents to go with the world-famous scenery
Koh Phangan is set to host the return of Thailand’s renowned Half-Moon Festival this weekend, with subsequent events planned every two weeks.
While the full moon parties have gained international fame, the Half-Moon Festival is equally impressive and exciting, offering a more mature vibe that has made it the island's best-kept secret for 20 years. Think of it as the refined older brother of the chaotic full moon parties, both being cornerstones of Thailand’s vibrant nightlife scene.
This weekend’s festivities feature an impressive line-up of global music heavyweights, including White No1se, Terra, Weekend Heroes, Faith, Aaron Suiss, and Timelock, just to name a few.
But, in true Half-Moon fashion, the weekend offers more than just music.
The weekend kicks off with a pre-party at Harmony Beach Club on August 8, set against the picturesque scenery of one of the island's premier beach clubs.
It has a slew of free activities for those wanting to take it easy, including kayaking, paddleboarding, spa services, and much more to warm up for the following days' antics.
The main event of the festival is the all-night rave in the Half-Moon Magical Forest on August 9, complete with fire shows, and mind-bending visuals and the organisers have plenty of other tricks up their sleeves.
Few parties have the staying power that Half Moon has earned for itself, and it’s one of those you have to go to at least once.
If you’re locked up this weekend, Half Moon is throwing events bi-weekly, with just as much madness at each ensuing.
Later this month, they’re hosting another packed line-up, with Stylo, Ubbah, Weekend Heroes, Ghost Rider, Vakabular, Tripical Note and Blanka set to play.
