Drawing on 25 years of sound experimentation rooted in both academia and underground electronic music culture, Rrose has continually explored microtonality, the limits of perception, and the unique qualities of machines. This exploration shapes intricate, detail-rich Techno structures with a deep, hypnotic texture, striking a precise balance between physical movement, sonic stimulation, and intellectual deconstruction. Rrose has collaborated with legendary figures like Bob Ostertag and Charlemagne Palestine, and has reinterpreted classic works by 20th-century composer James Tenney.

At the core of Rrose's aesthetic is a playful interrogation of subjectivity and semiotics. Rrose moves fluidly between different gendered pronouns — a naming choice and visual identity that directly references Marcel Duchamp's female alter ego, Rrose Sélavy.

Before taking on the Rrose persona, the artist was active in the San Francisco Bay Area rave scene in the '90s under the name Sutekh, earned a bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science from UC Berkeley, and later completed a master's in Electronic Music and Recording Media at Mills College.

Whether performing for seated audiences in theaters and museums or for sweat-drenched crowds on dancefloors at top venues like Berghain and Unsound, Rrose weaves live and DJ sets together like an intricate tapestry of sound. This influence has already left a deep mark on the evolution of contemporary Techno, with effects that continue to reverberate.

Tokyo's hottest next-generation rave collective, and evangelists of trance from the land of the rising sun. From dawn until sunrise, みんなのきもち (Minna no Kimochi) command purifying melodies and high-speed rhythms. As the sun rises and the light spreads, they swing wildly between soaring highs and melancholic lows, launching the dancefloor into the stratosphere one moment and dragging it back down into emotional depths the next.

As a DJ duo performing under the same name, they've played major stages worldwide, including Boiler Room and AVA Festival, and delivered their now-legendary "Sunrise Countdown" closing set at CTM Festival in Berghain, as well as at their own mythologized party held at Tokyo's Narita Airport.

Their label, Mizuha (罔象), is rooted in internet culture and focuses on releasing alternative work born from the cloud, blending the psychedelic elements of Trance with the natural, organic qualities of Ambient. The label has been named Bandcamp's Best Independent Label.
