Synergy unfurls an art meets techno New Year's Eve experience in Thailand

If your holiday travels are taking you to Thailand this year and you’re looking for a party far removed from a full moon experience, Chiang Mai is a worthy contender for a New Year's Eve experience. Synergy NYE Festival is offering something that they call an alternative to mainstream festival culture, where an inclusive haven of music, art and self-expression is flourishing.

Each year, the event takes on a new theme and this upcoming edition unfurls as Nature vs. The Machine with a kaleidoscope of sounds and activities spread across two stages in northern Thailand on December 31. The venue is called November Chiangmai overlooks the Ping River.

The line-up touches on all the corners of electronic music from techno to tech house, psytrance and drum 'n' bass. Featuring local and international talent rubs, Synergy supports emerging talent as much as their more established performers, all of which will be pumped through their custom built sound system — the best in Northern Thailand.

From 3D art installations, the Phlerp Photobooth and the Ultra Violent Barber, there is also lots to explore away from the dance floor.

Launched in 2017 by the same people who produce Jai Thep Festival, Synergy is an extension to that which also looks to renew a focus on underground electronic music and bespoke art installations in northern Thailand. The brand is also leading the green scene in Northern Thailand. Synergy strives to ban single-use items from their events and works with the reforestation organisation ‘One Tree Planted’ to ensure their impact in minimal.

Synergy New Year's Eve takes place on December 31 - 1 at November Chiang Mai. Find more information here.
