Super House Nightclub in Taiwan bungles start to 2021
A Belarusian threesome & an alpaca have caused the venue headaches
During their soft opening and grand opening parties over the first three weeks of January, Super House Nightclub in Taichung, Taiwan has gotten the local authorities interested in their venue twice—once for a simulated threesome on stage and once for having a ‘hot girl’ bring an alpaca to the venue.
When opening a nightclub, managers and owners push their employees to think outside the box to get publicity for their new venue, which hopefully results in more people coming to check things out. On a soft opening night on January 10, Super House Nightclub had two female and one male Belarusian dancers on stage. The two females simulated a threesome by straddling the male and moving back and forth. A person in the nightclub thought the dance was ‘too salty and wet’ and uploaded the videos to the Internet. This caused the authorities to get involved. The three dancers had to go to the local police station and make statements saying that they were wearing skin-colored tights that didn’t violate any public obscenity laws.
Just a few days later on January 15, the night of the grand opening, a ‘hot girl’ was promoting an appearance with an alpaca at Super House. While this is again outside-the-box thinking, alpacas are not used to being up at 3am, blaring EDM anthems, and hundreds of strobe lights and lasers. The Taichung City Animal Protection Department was notified and has been in contact with the Taichung police about charges of animal endangerment. This may result in a NT$75,000 fine for the nightclub or the owner of the alpaca.
While public obscenity and animal endangerment charges are pending, it might be good for Super House Nightclub to think a little bit more inside the box for future promotions.
