Splice's new sample label spotlights the ornate sounds of South Asia
The platform's VP of Content, Dani DiCiaccio, underlines how the new collection meets user demand for Bollywood sounds & South Asian instruments
The sample library and music creation platform Splice has launched Aaroh; a label representing South Asian music and its samples.
The label consists of sample packs from Splice, all of which are traditional South Asian sounds recorded by producers across the globe.
Aaroh aims to bridge the gap between Western and Southern Asian musical cultures by incorporating insights from South Asian musicians, producers, and sound designers who emphasise the significance of cultural context and authenticity in their commentary.
To celebrate Aaroh’s launch, Splice has released five sample packs focusing on various South Asian cultures: 'Vintage Bollywood', 'Sitar', 'Tabla', 'Konnakol' and 'Winds of India'.
Splice is already home to 28 distinct sample labels spanning over 130 various genres.

Dani DiCiaccio, Splice’s VP of content, said, “We know our users have been searching for Bollywood sounds and South Asian instruments, but we didn’t have great representation until now. This collection provides a growing community of digital creators more of what they’re looking for, created by some of the most talented producers and instrumentalists in South Asia.”
She continues, “We will continue to work with incredible players like these to offer singular sounds to Splice subscribers around the world.”
