Spark Club launches as a rebrand of Zouk KL

Zouk KL was undoubtedly one of Malaysia’s most popular nightclubs until it closed down due to the pandemic. However, tonight marks a special occasion for partygoers of the capital as the club re-opens its doors and dancefloors as the rebranded Spark Club.

For those planning to attend the grand re-opening, no need to open your maps app since there’s no venue relocation — you’ll still have the same euphoric feeling of going to a night out at Zouk, which was located at the TREC KL entertainment hub.

Set to start at 10pm, the party at Spark Club invites DJ-slash-producer Blink for a club night titled ‘Decadance: 10 Years of Dance Music’. The show aims to mark the revival of the KL nightlife scene and Blink’s first post-pandemic gig exclusively for Spark Club.

Tickets to the first day of celebrations are sold out, but not to worry; Blink will once again entertain the electronic music-hungry masses of Malaysia on Saturday, November 26 at the venue.

Blink shares in an Instagram post how the venue has sentimental value to the musician; “For the past decade or even longer I was booking rising acts before they were superstars and also the huge acts into that venue,” mentioning names such as Yellowclaw, Illenium and Hardwell. He also played the role of “your local neighbourhood DJ” on weekends, running his residency night.

From what we’ve heard, Spark Club still boasts Zouk’s 11 rooms with distinct sounds each, suited to the many different preferences of its customers.
