Sónar reveals the first details of its Hong Kong debut
April 1st - save the date
Fans of Sónar have been waiting patiently for news surrounding the festival's Hong Kong debut that was announced back in November. Since then, nothing. But now we finally have a venue and know when to start expecting line-up announcements.
The event will take place at the aptly chosen Hong Kong Science Park in Pak Shek Kok, New Territories and will have a total of 5 stages. Festivities will kick off at 11am and run until 3am on April 1st.
While no line-up has been announced yet, the festival has set that audiences can look forward to “can look forward to an expertly curated mix of established artists and hotly tipped emerging talents, and diverse performances ranging from live acts to DJs, and dance-floor-driven sets to experimental electronica.” And knowing what we know about Sónar's annual festival in Spain, electronic music fans should save the date.
The festival, which launched in Barcelona in 1994, is known and respected all over the world for its high-quality production and powerful line-ups that link music, creativity and technology. Stepping away from music, the festival will also host workshops, demonstrations, talks, live artists, international DJs and act as a platform for creative people to meet and collaborate.
Further details are expected on February 7th. To be the first to know and get 20% off tickets, subscribe to Sonar’s newsletter before 23:59 on February 6th here.
The festival is being organized by Magnetic Asia, the same folks behind the almighty Clockenflap.
