Kings of Bass presents liquid drum and bass royalty: Makoto. One of the most highly respected figures in d'n'b, Japanese DJ and producer Makoto Shimizu is famed for his unique blend of jazz and soul influences with A-list collaborations across the spectrum, from DJ Marky to S.P.Y.

Makoto began experimenting with the genre through his own compositions. His productions were of such quality that they caught the attention of none other than the legendary LTJ Bukem, who went on to sign Makoto to his seminal Good Looking Records imprint in 1999.

Since then Makoto has become one of the most highly respected producers and DJs in D&B, pushing his unique blend of fast breaks and soul-drenched music to every corner of the globe.

The night will be supported by Kings of Bass residents, Kane MC, Nonsequitur, birthday boy ALX and JAC.

Kings of Bass are born out of Singapore and driven by a passion for bass music within the electronic music scene.

Established in 2020, the founders have been involved in electronic music since 1999, beginning in Australia’s then-burgeoning drum and bass scene.

They’ve since performed alongside and hosted some of the world’s biggest producers and artists such as LTJ Bukem, Unglued, Goldie, Etherwood, London Elektricity, DJ Marky, Annie Mac, Dynamite MC and more.
