Sonic explorers, label heads, and pillars of the Melbourne underground, Sleep D explore the rave unconscious — driving rhythms, hypnotic bass, worlds of echo and the hazy bliss of the morning after. Childhood friends with Iraqi and Maltese lineage, the duo and their coveted Butter Sessions label have ushered in a new era, sensibility and productivity to the city that raised them.
A defiantly DIY two-man assembly line, Maryos Syawish and Corey Kikos have issued a steady stream of diverse records, alongside long-standing DJ residencies and an ever-evolving live show. Their LP on NYC label Incienso is their first Long Play excursion, encapsulating their singular take on bush doof, mutated house, acid scraps and ambient.
The duo will have support from a top-notch line-up of Singapore-based selectors — Bongomann, Sivanesh, James Selva, Leland, Miss Lil, Loyboy, Tashasan, Mako, Sho & Tell, Mari, Jas, and Sound and Build.
Also included in the experience is a full stack Funktion One Soundsystem courtesy of Rebel Decibel Soundsystems, a deep, dark purple underground twilight zone, transmuting the bare concrete into a neon forest of blooming organic expression, plus an exploration of string theory with neon and UV designs amplified by Algorhythm’s atmospheric architecture team.
The event will also present a number of activities including UV Playnting, Flow Zone and UV Face Painting.
20% of proceeds will be donated equally to two charities aiding the refugees in Gaza; Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) and United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
