Seoul-based WALLS AND PALS up the dance floor ante on ‘Pals FM: Floor Materials Vol.1’
The EP includes rhythmic bliss from Jesse You, Mogwaa GUCHI & Mr. Ho
Following ‘Pure Elements’ EP by ACIDWORK from last year, Seoul-based imprint WALLS AND PALS deliver a virtuous array of dancefloor-centric goodness for their sophomore release, and it’s out today.
‘Pals FM: Floor Materials Vol.1’ encompasses the label’s esoteric approach to dance tracks which are usually formatted for DJ-friendly club play, or as the label says, “rather than simply a ‘DJ Tool’ which normally leans more towards DJ’s convenience” — this EP represents the modern dance floor where time, space and tempo have far more freedom for aural expressionism.
Label co-founder Mogwaa, initiates things on the A side with a celestially spatial and ever so slightly dark-tinged 4am groover titled ‘Provision 8216’; he’s followed by arpeggiated, laidback techno-breaks from Osakan producer GUCHI’s ‘THE FUTURE OF EMOTIONS’.
Mogwaa’s label counterpart, Jesse You, delivers blissful sunset electro that’s brimming with higher vibrations on the B side with ‘Silly and Bright’, followed by ‘#1’, a bouncy disco-infused burner from Hong Kong-based producer Mr. Ho, who delivers one of his funkier and more uplifting works.
The label will also be hosting a release launch party tonight at Modeci in Seoul. Find out more here.
