Audio Asia: non-nonsense techno power on 'Rising Waves' from MISIGII & JAZZERIMO

Title: Rising Waves
Artist: MISIGII Ft JAZZERIMO
Label: Neu Gravity
Release Date: April 2

Frequent collaborators MISIGII and JAZZERIMO once again join forces on the Istanbul-based Neu Gravity label, this time turning out the determinedly dark and dubby techno track, 'Rising Waves'.

Between them, Iranian-in-Turkey MISIGII and Iranian-in-Bali JAZZERIMO have clearly formed a solid techno simpatico, having released a string of floor-focussed tracks on Bach Music, Egothermia, and Far Down Records. Apart from digging through their archives and checking in on their social media pages, we actually know very little about the artists. One thing, however, is abundantly clear to us: when it comes to crafting their music, they heavily favour the darker realms of the dance spectrum. On their latest offering via young but prolific Neu Gravity, the duo display an uncompromising mood by serving a slamming main room assault. 'Rising Waves' is built around a relentlessly driving kick, fizzing hats and body-shaking percussion. Melody is completely dispensed with in favour of earth-shattering rhythm, as dramatic synth stabs ride in to penetrate the space, snare rolls add tension, as the groove effortlessly builds and disperses throughout the energetic journey.

There's little doubting the motivation behind this non-nonsense jam, this is powerful, dance-inducing techno designed to energise bodies and arouse the senses.
