Radio Rumah Oma expands into a physical space with RRO Bar
“We've always liked bringing people together, and at some point, it felt right to have a space where that can happen more often.”
RRO Bar is now open on the third floor of Ruang Analoog at Grand Wijaya Centre, South Jakarta.
It's the latest move from Radio Rumah Oma (RRO), the digital radio platform founded in 2020 around freeform programming, community engagement, and curated music experiences.
The location wasn't planned so much as it fell into place. “Honestly there wasn't a big plan behind choosing the location,” the RRO team explains to Mixmag Asia, adding “We're grateful that somehow all the paths led us here. A lot of the neighbours are actually friends or familiar faces, like Slits, Taco Local, SpaCCCe, and so on, which made it feel even more right.”
Since 2020, Radio Rumah Oma has expanded beyond broadcasting into event production, talent booking, and audio services, growing a network of DJs, musicians, and creatives along the way.
The bar felt like the next logical step. “It feels like a natural evolution without us really planning it that way. We've always liked bringing people together, and at some point, it felt right to have a space where that can happen more often,” they share.

RRO Bar brings the crew's ethos into a physical setting, offering a consistent space for its audience and collaborators to gather.
The bar operates with a flexible format. Early evenings tend to be quieter, while later hours can shift toward more active sessions depending on the crowd and music.

One regular fixture is Thursday’s Workin’ on a Groovy Thing, with open-format DJ sets putting the music front and centre
The RRO team add: “This place can be a place to come by after work, to hang out, talk, have fun, and maybe dance a little more!”
