Quest Festival reveals the first 24 names on the line-up this year

Quest Festival has already confirmed its return this year for round seven and opened its ticket sales last month to a record response. Today the festival has released the first details of the highly anticipated line-up with 24 acts that run the gamut as far as genres, nationalities, spirit and style go.

The line-up sees names like English electronic music pioneers The Orb Soundsystem, Indonesian folk-pop act Stars and Rabbit, multi-instrumentalist and DJ Stanford Reid and Vietnamese pianist Tri Minh as well as a 20-piece swing band from Hanoi. See the full first phase line-up below.

“Each year we are challenged to not only top the lineup from the year before but exceed expectations,” said musical director Luke Poulson of this year. "This lineup is just the beginning of the magic that awaits. Stay tuned because we have lots more surprises up our sleeves for Quest 2017. With loads more acts to announce across an even broader musical spectrum, this is due to be our most impressive musical lineup to date.”

Last year also saw the debut of takeovers with Hong Kong based label Cliche and Thailand’s Kolour collective taking charge of their own stages. Quest will expand on this concept and host four such takeovers this year including Die Empathy, who will be curating musical journeys to accompany sunrise and sunsets, and Musical Boat Journeys presented by Heart of the Sound that will take revelers around Dong Mo Lake in a private boat. The last two will be announced on a later date.

Once completed, there will be a total of 150 acts playing across five hand-crafted stages. This year's ethos draws inspiration from the mythological creatures of Vietnamese legends

Quest 2017 takes place from November 10th - 12th at the Son Tihn Camp in Ba Vi along the idyllic Dong Mo Lake. Last year's edition averaged about 5,000 revelers and to feel the mood you can browse through last year's colorful post-festival photos here.

Besides its visionary music program, the site will be transformed into a full sensory and immersive experience with dancers, art, workshops, interactive installations, circus troupes and natural beauty. Workshops will run across the course of the festival teaching everything from circus skills to projection mapping to yoga.

Tickets to the festival are 1.300.000 VND ($58 USD) until August 1st, purchase them here.
