Pyramid of Knowledge transforms at 160bpm into K.O.P. 32
The new alias champions a new sound profile to match
Seoul is a hotpot of underground music styles. Between the clubs, radio, burgeoning artists and a never-ending list of record labels, it's safe to say that Seoul gives many genres and further sub-genres a quality representation when compared to many of Asia's other large cities. With techno as a mainstay and generally at the forefront of their music scene (thanks in part to Faust, Beton Brut and other techno-friendly venues), it's no surprise to see artists pushing the limits and sound further and further to the edges of experimentation. K.O.P. 32, formerly known as Pyramid of Knowledge, offers us a glimpse at what an ever-changing underground music landscape can result in.
In June of 2021, Pyramid of Knowledge dropped Beyond The Bridge, a three-track EP exploring sounds ranging from techno, electronica and even ambient. The release was available in 12" format, or as a digital download for the price of 1,000 Euro both through the artist's imprint also titled Beyond The Bridge. For many artists though, musical exploration is a never-ending ambition, and today we got wind that Pyramid of Knowledge has assumed a new alias in K.O.P. 32 to accompany his newest six-track EP Broke Bridges which will also release on the Beyond The Bridge imprint.
Broken Bridges is a haunting trip for the listener, a fusion of sound profiles between deep hypnotic Italian techno and Frenchcore with a tribal twist to it. While only two of the tracks are currently available to preview, the sound profile is consistent and sucks you in like a dark hole with it's synthetic atmosphere, acid motifs and twisted drums. The EP also comes available in a limited 100 copies by cassette and features a secret seventh track in that format.
Broken Bridges will release on February 15, 2022 and is available for pre-order via the Beyond The Bridge Bandcamp page here
