PARAMOUNT brings 2 days of immersive sound to Japan’s Gunma mountains

PARAMOUNT 2026 takes place on May 23–24 at Gunma Cycle Sports Center in Minakami, Gunma, boasting a mountain venue that sets the backdrop for two days of music.

The festival centres on the OtOdashi soundsystem, which shapes the dancefloor alongside an intimate yet expertly curated line-up of nine artists.

Four international artists head this year's program, and it’s worth noting that several are making their Japan debut at this edition.

First, the Space Drum Meditation duo will perform live, bringing a body of work built through consistent releases on their own label, alongside a newly added DJ set. Amoral also joins from Europe, where they've steadily developed a reputation across the club circuit.

Barcelona’s oma totem is set to perform both live and DJ sets, working primarily with analogue hardware. Finally, Suna arrives from Seoul, where she’s held residency at club vurt. and built a following within the city's techno scene.

Representing the local scene are five Japanese artists.

NOCO has been active for over 25 years, rooted in Japan's early underground trance scene and still moving between local and international contexts. Mimu, one of PARAMOUNT's founders, handles artist curation for the festival in addition to performing.

Hidai, Shuuma, and TAAAHHH are all OtOdashi members whose DJ sets are built around an intimate knowledge of the soundsystem.
