A longtime fixture in Japan’s club scene, YAMA is a selector with a house-driven sound that stretches into techno, ambient, jazz and psychedelic territory.
Her years as a record buyer and current advisory role at Newtone Records in Osaka have sharpened an instinct for deep digging and unexpected connections, resulting in sets that move effortlessly from warm, uplifting grooves to hypnotic, mind-bending textures.
A regular at Sapporo’s legendary Precious Hall and a guest at Future Terror, she has also taken her sound to international stages including fabric London, Savage Hanoi, The Observatory Ho Chi Minh City, 宀 Mihn Club Hong Kong, Nyapi Seoul and Wonderfruit.
