After a successful run in the United States and Canada in mid-2023, Berlin-based producer and label head Nhan Solo is ready to take Asia by storm.
Back in 2012, the Vietnamese artist set off to establish dominance in the contemporary house scene. Having established his brainchild Mother Recordings — a label dedicated to lovers of “the true house and disco sound” —, Nhan was able to connect with like-minded friends and creatives, allowing them to showcase their talent and create a vibrant community within the label.
As for his personal musical outputs, they’ve been housed under esteemed imprints such as Solomun’s 2DIY4 and iconic NYC label Nervous Records. Respected figures in the scene, such as Monkey Safari, Ian Pooley, Oliver Dollar, Yolanda Be Cool, Spencer Parker, Adriatique and more have remixed his tracks.
Building on his success, Nhan forged high-profile collaborations with notable figures such as New York hip hop legend Kurtis Blow, Los Angeles-based singer Cari Golden, and UK's respected songwriter Jem Cooke.
Mother Recordings, with three Beatport #1 and one Overall #1 Hits, solidified its position as a long-term powerhouse, earning recognition as the Beatport Breakthrough Label in 2015 and securing the second spot in the Beatport Label House rankings for 2017. Come 2019, he expanded his influence by launching Superfett Records, a sister label offering an entirely different vibe from its predecessor, described as “100% functional, club weapons that is full-on and physical”.
The same year also saw him tearing up Europe with weekly gigs and sold-out tours across the Americas and Australia. Continuing the momentum were Mother Recordings showcases at prominent events such as Amsterdam Dance Event, Sonar, and The BPM Festival.
