Souls of Mischief share new version of ‘93 ‘till Infinity’ 30 years on

Souls of Mischief have just dropped some new verses to their career-defining track '93 'til infinity' — 30 years since its original release.

The legendary Oakland-hailing crew dropped new verses during a freestyle appearance on Red Bull's YouTube Spiral series on Tuesday (August 1). All four members delivered reimagined lyrics to the instantly recognisable A-Plus-produced beat in one take.

In a likeness to the original verse, Tajai begins the freestyle with an introduction, followed by a verse from Opio. Rather than all four artists spitting a verse one after another before the hook comes in like they did in the original, the remixed version has the hook following each rapper's verse, with the group performing in the same order of the first section of the original track. All four members take turns rapping the iconic hook.

They use their trademark flows to speak about self-affirmation, women and their respective skills as an artist while the camera spins around each member onstage.

Early this year, the group announced that they would be going on a world tour in celebration of the 30th anniversary of their seminal album debut, which coincides with hip hop's 50th anniversary.

“93 ‘Till Infinity 30th Anniversary tour: Around the World in 93 Dates”, wrapped up its European leg in April. The group will continue to tour around North America until mid-September.

They have also shared that they will be joining The Pharcyde and The Alkaholiks for a one-night-only special performance where The Souls of Mischief crew shall perform the entirety of their debut album. The Pharcyde will be performing the whole of their 1992 Bizarre Ride II, which housed hits such as ‘Passin’ Me By’ and ‘Otha Fish’, while the Alkaholiks will be performing their ‘21 & Over’ album.
