New Balance's Tokyo Design Studio has reworked the brand’s classic 1300 sneaker
The new collection was inspired by a Japanese proverb
Tokyo Design Studio, New Balance's creative lab in Japan, has reimagined the brand's classic 1300 sneakers with a playful asymmetric design.
R_C1330TF, released on April 23, has been gaining attention since its reveal on the brand's socials. Keeping all the classic detailing of the OG 1300 series, the new sneaker is coloured with a summer palette, with colours like oatmeal, marigold and soft shades of navy and teal to create an altogether fun and fashionable shoe.
According to Tokyo Design Studio, the design is inspired by a Japanese proverb "not seeing is a flower" ("見ぬが花") meaning "it's the best when it's unseen". The sneaker is actually kind of actualised by non-typical imagination with its asymmetrical colour design and suede with leather crossover.
Hardcore fans of the brand will know that the 1300 is a sacred shoe amongst Japanese sneaker collectors since it only drops once every five years.
Retailing at £160, you can now get the New Balance R_C1330TF via the brand's web store, SSENSE and END. Check out the detailing on the sneaker below:
