A new 2,000-capacity music venue from the team behind DRUMSHEDS and now-shuttered venue Printworks has been approved to open in Canada Water.
The venue, named Corner Corner, will take the space of a 1980s shopping centre in Surrey Quays due to be knocked down in the next few years.
As reported by The Standard, a Southwark Council planning committee approved plans for the new event space during a meeting on Wednesday, February 5.

Plans were submitted by property developers British Land, who are partnering with Broadwick on the new venture. In a report published in November 2024, British Land said it hoped the space would open as early as spring 2025.
Described as a new “cultural hub” with 50,000 sq ft of space, Corner Corner will overlook Canada Dock, featuring “collaborative workspaces, live music, and food and beverage outlets”.
The space will also feature London’s “largest indoor urban vertical farm”, where herbs and salad leaves will be produced to use in meals throughout the venue’s food stalls.

Hot Dinners reports that the venue will collaborate with KERB markets, a food market chain with multiple spaces around London, coming complete with an all-day cafe focused on “hyper-local, sustainable farming”.
Corner Corner will offer mostly live jazz gigs as opposed to club nights due to the “internal music levels not allowing for traditional live music / concert hall type events”, but will host ticketed events on the weekends.
Approved plans will allow Corner Corner to open as late as 3:AM on Thursdays through Saturdays, subject to licensing permissions. British Land said during the meeting last week that it did not intend to regularly host late-night events.
